While I have had other hobbies throughout my life, there have only been two which have stuck with me through the years, one is writing and the other jewelry making.
I'm not what one would call the best jewelry designer in history, I do have my own style. Which is mostly rough.
What do I mean by that?
Ok, when I first started making jewelry it had been with my grandmother, Mamas. We used little plastic beads and twine, after that I started salvaging beads from old jewelry.
Once I had money comming in regularly I started buying my beads, mostly the same plastic and glass that I learned to use from my grandmother. And then bead chips started coming in, I thought they were lovely and quickly fell in love with them.
Fom there I started developing my own style. I was inspired by nature and soon I started working with a more nateral and rough look.
My wire wrapping is not uniform, each piece is freeform making each unique.
While I do make pieces that I reproduce to sell, I also have many one of a kind pieces, these tend to be my favorite of all I do.
When I started Aurora BellaDonna one of my main ideas was to work on mixing the styles of many cultures in a celebration of all that is us, women. I hope I have succeeded in this, though not nearly finished in studying the different styles, I work to add each as I learn.
I hope that everyone that visits my gallery enjoys my work. If you have any questions you wish to ask please do feel free to note me.
Farewell till we meet again.
She Is
Her skin was carved from white jade, her eyes emeralds.
Her lips painted in hues of coral, and her hair spun gold.
She was the vision of woman, her image shifting through every stone and every shade.
Pearls still wet from the water's depths hung from her ears, marble strung along her slender neck.
Her voice rang like moonlit silver,
She was the child; our child-
She was the maiden; when untouched and innocent her petal bloomed-
She was the Lover; her body a temple for worship that she gladly opened-
She was the Mother; Our Mother-
She was the Crone; Her years and wisdom she offers.
She is Us, she is every shape and every color, her words spoken in every tongue;
She knows not hate, for we are one and the same;
We are Human.
